Your family doctor can refer you to a specialist in Ottawa or the surrounding area when you need one.
In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Your doctor decides if you need a specialist. If you do, we send the referral.
The specialist’s office contacts you
They review the referral and call you to book an appointment.
