Dr. Mohamad Akil
Family physician, Lead Physician
Dr. Akil (BSc, MEd, LMCC, MD, CCFP) is an experienced family physician with over 8 years of practice across Canada. He is the Medical Director of Rideau MD Medical Centre and an IRCC designated panel physician in Ottawa. His expertise in family medicine, and his surgical skills in circumcisions and medical aesthetic procedures, are well known among his colleagues and patients.

Dr. Ankur Chopra
Family physician, Co-Lead Physician
Dr. Ankur Chopra (MD, ABFM, CCFP) is a dual board-certified family physician trained in Philadelphia, providing comprehensive, evidence-based, patient-centred care in Ottawa. As a designated IRCC panel physician, he also conducts immigration medical exams alongside his primary care practice. Dr. Chopra has a special interest in lifestyle medicine, sports medicine, mental health and medical weight loss, with a focus on preventive health and on addressing root causes to help patients achieve lasting physical and mental well-being.

Dr. Lucia Chen
Family physician
Dr. Chen has a medical degree and family medicine residency from McGill University, a Masters in Public Health from UC Berkeley and a Harvard refugee trauma recovery certificate. She has practised family medicine since 1986 in Canada, California, Hong Kong and Beijing. She has much experience in multicultural health care, health maintenance, sports injuries, women’s health and pediatrics.

Dr. Ahmed Bashir
Family physician
Dr. Bashir earned his medical degree (MBBS) in New Delhi, India, followed by a year of surgical residency training in Trinidad and Tobago. After moving to Canada, he completed his family medicine residency at the University of Ottawa. He has practised family medicine since 1993, caring for patients and families through all stages of life. His practice focuses on comprehensive primary care, preventive medicine and chronic disease management, supported by the broad clinical foundation of his surgical training. He believes in compassionate, patient-centred care and in building lasting relationships based on trust and understanding. Outside of medicine, he enjoys travelling, staying active and spending time with his family.
